Come As You Arkansas

In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the University of Arkansas, the campus and greater community are invited to participate in Come as You Arkansas, an all-day progressive style event to highlight the university’s mission, vision, history and future.

Come as You Arkansas is open to all who wish to attend – from alumni to new visitors, families, faculty and staff. Events will occur in a variety of buildings, outdoor spaces and venues throughout the day.

Campus-wide gatherings will allow attendees to walk through campus, learning from students, faculty and staff about the university’s innovative ideas, research and far-reaching impact. Participants are encouraged to come as they are – comfy and casual with Razorback attire encouraged (but not required).

Guest Parking

Guest parking is available in Lot 99 on Beechwood Avenue. Razorback Transit will run shuttle service continuously from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Limited parking will also be available in the Garland Avenue and Harmon Avenue Garages.

Welcome Tent

In partnership with the Bumpers College School of Human Environmental Sciences, “The Heart of Hospitality” welcome tent will be located at the Arkansas Union Mall. In addition to picking up a Come as You Arkansas program, you can receive concierge service including help planning your day, access to campus maps and directions, and more details about the events being hosted throughout campus.

Need assistance?

If you need help while you are on campus, look for a volunteer wearing a Come as You Arkansas volunteer t-shirt. We are ready to make your day on campus hog-tastic!

Weather

Come as You Arkansas is a rain or shine event! Should we experience severe weather conditions, outdoor activities will be cancelled. Stay tuned to our social media channels (Facebook and Instagram) for any weather related updates.

Water Stations

It could be a hot day on September 10! With tremendous thanks to our beverage sponsor, Pepsico, bottled water is available at project sites across campus. You’ll also be able to grab a bottle at the Heart of Hospitality Welcome Tent, Old Main Lawn or from one of our golf carts assisting guests throughout campus.

Lost and Found

Items found throughout the day will be turned over to Campus Lost and Found located in Facilities Management Central Supply at 521 S. Razorback Road. If you lose something, please call (479) 575-4494 or email lost@uark.edu. Hours for Campus Lost and Found are 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

What is Come as You Arkansas?

In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the founding of the University of Arkansas, the campus and greater community are invited to participate in Come as You Arkansas, an all-day progressive style event to highlight the university’s mission, vision, history and Activities are planned in a variety of spaces throughout campus to showcase creativity, innovation, and research.

What time does the event start and when does it conclude?

The day begins with a kickoff breakfast and campus welcome at 8:15 a.m. in the Greek Theatre. Most activities end mid-afternoon. Check out the full schedule on the website for specific project times.

What if it rains?

Come as You Arkansas is happening rain or shine! Should we experience inclement weather, certain activities may be cancelled. We recommend following us on the University of Arkansas social media channels, such as Facebook and Instagram, to get the latest udpates.

Who can attend?

Everyone is welcome! Activities are designed for guests of all ages.

Do I need to register or sign-up somewhere?

No need to register or sign-up, but we’d love to know what activities you are interested in attending. On the Come as You Arkansas website, you can click “I’m interested” on the activities that you want to attend. There is no charge to participate in any of the Come as You Arkansas activities or events.

Where should I go once I get to campus?

I would like to volunteer for the event. Where can I sign-up?

We need volunteers to help make the day a success. There are a variety of opportunities available in 2-hour shifts. Volunteers receive a Come as You Arkansas t-shirt and make a significant contribution to this historic event! You can sign up to volunteer directly on the Come as You Arkansas website – look for the box at the top of the page titled Be a Volunteer!

Where can I park?

Should you wish to park off campus or shuttle from elsewhere in Fayetteville, you’ll want to refer to the Razorback Transit Route Maps and Schedules on transit.uark.edu. Please note that there is a federal mask requirement for all transit systems. Bring a mask to wear when riding the Razorback transit.

How are you making the event safe?
